Demi Moore takes Steinem role in 'Lovelace'
LOS ANGELES?? Demi Moore, Adam Brody and Eric Roberts have joined the cast of "Lovelace," a biopic about porn actress Linda Lovelace, the producers announced on Monday.
Moore will play the iconic feminist Gloria Steinem, while Roberts will be play a lie-detector expert. Brody will play "Deep Throat" male lead Harry Reems.
Lovelace's role in the notorious 1972 hardcore-porn movie made her one of the best-known figures in adult entertainment.
As previously announced, Amanda Seyfried will play the title role in the movie, which Millennium Films is making with the cooperation of Lovelace's estate.

Peter Sarsgaard will portray Lovelace's husband, Chuck Traynor, and James Franco will play Hugh Hefner.
Other castmembers include Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, Wes Bentley, Sharon Stone and Juno Temple.
"Lovelace" is directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman ("Bowl," "The Celluloid Closet"). The screenplay was written by Andy Bellin ("Trust").
The film has an estimated budget of $10 million and is currently filming. A release date has not been set.
"Lovelace" is being produced by Heidi Jo Markel, Laura Rister, Jason Weinberg and Jim Young. Boaz Davidson, Danny Dimbort, Mark Gill, W. Merritt Johnson, Avi Lerner, Trevor Short and John Thompson are executive producing.
"Lovelace" is one of two Linda Lovelace projects now under way. Writer-director Matthew Wilder's "Inferno: A Linda Lovestace Story," based on Lovelace's autobiography, is due in 2013. Malin Akerman will star in that movie.

Hackers target emails of UK's Gordon Brown: report (Reuters)
LONDON (Reuters) ? British police have found evidence that private investigators working for newspapers hacked into the email account of former Prime Minister Gordon Brown while he was finance minister, The Independent newspaper reported on Monday.
Hundreds of other people may have also had their emails intercepted, perhaps as many as were caught up in the phone hacking scandal at News International's now defunct News of the World tabloid, the paper said.
Detectives were looking at evidence from about 20 computers seized from private investigators, the newspaper reported.
The team at London's Scotland Yard police headquarters were looking into the possibility that several newspaper titles commissioned private detectives to access computers, The Independent said, citing an unnamed source.
The Brown emails under scrutiny dated from the time he was Britain's finance minister before he became prime minister in 2007. Former Labour advisor and lobbyist Derek Draper was also targeted, The Independent said.
The Metropolitan police would not comment on the report.
"We are not prepared to give a running commentary on this investigation," a spokesman said.
News International, the British newspaper arm of Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation, also declined to comment.
The group closed the News of the World in July 2011 after evidence emerged that investigators working for the title hacked into the mobile phone voicemails of celebrities, politicians and even murder victims.
It is the only newspaper that has admitted phone hacking, although some journalists and celebrities have said the practice was widespread in the tabloid press.
News International's titles were not singled out in the Independent's report on email hacking.

Mexico says arrests weapons chief for drug cartel
MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico on Saturday said that it had arrested a leading weapons smuggler for one of the largest drug cartels.
Ramiro Rendon Rivera, a key distributor of firearms for the Sinaloa Cartel lead by Joaquin "Shorty" Guzman, was arrested on Friday, the army said in a statement.
Mexican President Felipe Calderon's campaign to curb violent drug cartels has left more than 46,000 people dead since he took office in 2006.
Mexican authorities have in the last several months apprehended several lieutenants of Guzman, the country's most-wanted man.

Delaware Civil Union Law Goes Into Effect in New Year
Some Delaware gay and lesbian couples will don wedding apparel soon. The state?s civil union law goes into effect Sunday morning. People can begin applying for licenses on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.

However, some couples can start their new year with a legally recognized partner. New Castle County Clerk of Peace Ken Boulden Jr. will open his office New Year?s Day?and waive the 24-hour waiting period?for eight couples. But Boulden?s office won?t perform any ceremonies until Jan.5.
Attorney Lisa Goodman led Equality Delaware?s battle for the civil union law. Goodman and her partner, Delaware?s Criminal Justice Council head and former American Civil Liberties Union state chapter director Drewry Fennell, will be the first couple to receive a license.
Fennell and Goodman will head to downtown Wilmington?s Trinity Episcopal Church immediately after receiving the license?having a ceremony during the noon service.
"We'll have lots of family in for the day," Goodman said.
Delaware Gov. Jack Markell signed the civil union legislation in May. It?s among nearly 12 states which allow civil unions or same-sex marriage. Delaware, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, is among the top 10 states with recorded same-sex couples.
The Associated Press is also reporting that same-sex couples in Hawaii can also join as one?effective 12:01 a.m. New Year?s Day. Hawaii Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo said the Aloha state will recognize unions from other states. Both civil union and marriage license applications will be available online at www.hawaii.gov starting Jan. 1.
