Selecting A Credit Card | Personal Financial Planning Concepts

March 17th, 2012 by admin Leave a reply ?

Selecting A Credit Card ImageHow many ?pre-approved? credit card offers do you get in the mail in the average month that seem to shout at you to accept the offer before it expires? If you?re in the market for a credit card, take some time to shop all the offers to get the best credit card available to you.

First, look into the credit card terms and conditions. These are the fees associated with making purchases on the card, transferring balances to the card, taking cash withdrawals, and late fees. You can easily compare the annual percentage rate between credit card offers. The annual percentage rate is a way to measure what the credit actually costs you. Beware of variable annual percentage rates- and if you are considering credit card offers with variable APR?s, find out how often the rate can be changed, how it effects the finance charges you are billed each month, and what the rate is based on.

Secondly, find out whether or not the cards in question charge an annual membership fee. Annual fees can be anything from $25 to $100 a year, with some platinum credit cards charging several hundred dollars. This is a fee that you are required to pay each year just for having the card in your wallet- even if you never make a purchase or transfer a balance to the account. If you?re going to pay an annual fee on a credit card, there should be rewards or low rates that make the fee worth paying.

Look into the grace period of the credit card. Many cards will give you about 56 days to make payments interest free, without finance charges, just by paying your entire balance on time. Cards that do not have this free period can charge you a finance charge from the date you make a purchase on your card, or from the date each charge is posted to the account. Also consider transaction fees, and another fees associated with having the credit card. Just about every credit card will issue a fee if you take a cash advance or make your payment past the due date. Find out whether or not there is a monthly fee charged to the account when you don?t make any purchases- there are some credit cards that will charge you monthly even if you haven?t taken the card out of your wallet, and those are fees you can easily avoid just by selecting a credit card that doesn?t have these additional fees.

You?ll also want to consider the reward programs offered from each credit card you are considering applying for. If you are a frequent traveler, it makes sense to look at rewards programs that earn you discounted flights, hotels, and car rentals when you purchase your travel expenses and tickets using the credit card. Over time, your purchases will result in free travel, making the credit card with the travel rewards program a great choice for the frequent traveler. A very popular form of credit card rewards program is the cash back offer. These credit cards will reward spenders with 1% to 5% cash back for all of their purchases- either credited back to the credit card or sent as a check to the card holder. This may be a good card for you if you pay your balances off each month in full- because typically a cash back card will have a higher percentage rate than cards without cash back programs.

Top Internet Marketing | Internet Marketing Services That Deliver ...

March 17, 2012 ? 7:39 am

To understand it better, we need to first identify what a successful online strategy must be like. A fundamentally strong online strategy should be able to achieve the following:

1.It should be able to drive targeted traffic to your website and persuade visitors to take a decision. This basically means that if a person is visiting your site for a particular product then the availability of the product on your website and the customer experience should end with a sale. You can use web metrics to analyze as well as measure the behavior of the user.

2.It is not an easy task to drive targeted traffic to your website especially in the age of rising competition. You need to use certain elements of Internet marketing services to drive targeted traffic. Some of the elements include search engine marketing (SEM) campaign. An SEM strategy further includes pay-per-click or PPC advertising and search engine optimization or SEO strategy.

3.Application of the SEO strategy is quite common but the distinguishing factor lies in the type of keyword you choose. It?s important to identify the right keywords that can be used as a part of your PPC and SEO campaigns.

4.Your internet marketing strategy should also include the use of tools like Wordtrackers, which can generate a random list of all possible keywords and phrases perfect for your business. Using a tool like this, you will be able to determine the frequency of search for each of the phrases. Based on the result, you can evaluate the options and identify the strength of competition. You can select the phrases and keywords and test them by using them for search engine optimization and PPC campaigns.

One of the key objectives of using Internet marketing services is to be able to effectively persuade a website visitor to take a desired action. You can buy a list of newsletter subscribers or offer a free download of a software demo package on your website. These are just minor elements that will draw a visitor to your website and help your to achieve the desired result.

Some of the other attributes that play an important role in making the marketing strategies effective include the total design and website architecture. Website architecture will include elements like navigation, design, content & copy and usability. All these elements need to be in sync to help drive traffic to your website.

Let us take a closer look at some of the Internet marketing services tools that are an integral part of any website or online business promotion:

PPC or Pay per click: PPC campaigns have become extremely popular platform of driving traffic. In PPC, you won?t have to pay for advertising space or the advertisement itself but you will be charged every time a visitor clicks on your advertisement. It is also known as the cost per click (CPC) mode of advertising.

Search Engine Marketing: Also known as SEM, it is an online advertising strategy through which your online business can be optimized. This is an integral part of the Search Engine Marketing Services and this strategy will use your business/product/service oriented keywords to create a potential link with various other businesses. This will enhance your website relevancy and get your website listed among the top 20 or 30 search engine result page (SERP). A good SERP will increase the number of visitors to your page and will also help in converting them to customers.

Banner Advertising: A couple of years back, this was one of the top Internet marketing services but since the advent of SEM, it is not as critical but still is considered as a key factor. In banner advertising, you have to pay for the banner space. You can also display your banner in another website through banner exchange.

Email Marketing: Email marketing includes mostly newsletters, mailers etc, which can be sent to a group of subscribers or customers and is used to inform them about the launch of a new service or product.

Idaho House approves higher education budget

BOISE, Idaho (AP) ? The Idaho House is backing a budget that increases state support for Idaho's public universities by $18.1 million in 2013.

Lawmakers voted 58-9 Friday to approve the plan, which includes a 2 percent salary increase for employees.

State spending on higher education has declined 26 percent amid the economic downturn. Democratic Rep. Shirley Ringo voted for the increased 2013 budget after comparing it to giving a peanut butter sandwich to someone who's been undernourished for some time.

Ringo said she wished the state could do more.

Republican Rep. Lenore Barrett was among a handful of lawmakers who voted against plan. Barrett said she wasn't as optimistic that Idaho "was better off" as the budget suggested and also, she disagreed with critics who say lawmakers weren't doing enough for education.

Calgary vs. Toronto: Who Wins in the Housing ... - Calgary Real Estate

Real Estate Sales in Toronto and Calgary in February
Real Estate Sales in Toronto
and Calgary in February

If Calgary and Toronto met in a housing battle, who do you think would end up as the winner: Toronto, with a strong market including extreme condo demand, or Calgary, a growing energy-based city? It seems to be a balanced battle.

The Housing Market Today

Real Estate Sales in Toronto and Calgary in February
Real Estate Sales in Toronto
and Calgary in February

Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) recorded about 7,032 sales in February 2012, while Calgary recorded 1,736 sales. The big difference isn?t surprising, as Toronto is much bigger. Sales increased in both cities, but in Toronto, the year-to-year change was higher, at 10.8 per cent versus Calgary?s 6.96 per cent. The difference between average house prices is $77 354 ? $425,154 in Calgary and $502,508 in Toronto. The condo market was extremely strong in Toronto, while Calgary?s total condo sales declined by 11.74 per cent.

?Price growth will continue to be very strong until the market becomes better supplied,? said Toronto Real Estate Board President Richard Silver. ?It is important to note that both buyers and sellers are aware of current market conditions. This is evidenced by the fact that homes sold, on average, for 99 per cent of the asking price in February.?

Calgary, which is supported mainly by immigration and the energy sector, is likely to go on growing and developing its housing market, but it will probably not keep the title of ?hot growth mecca? as it was named in Emerging Trends in Real Estate last year.

?Conditions had favoured the buyer in the last couple of years but we are seeing signs that the market is transitioning closer towards more balanced levels. Growth in employment and migration, supported by activity in the energy sector will help sustain demand for new and resale homes,? noted Richard Cho, senior market analyst in Calgary for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp.

Result: Point for Toronto

Affordability

Toronto?s housing affordability is typically higher than in Vancouver but significantly below Calgary?s level. According to the latest report for the last quarter of 2011 by RBC, if the average Torontonian household wanted to buy a standard two-storey house, home ownership costs, including mortgage payments, utilities, and property taxes take up 61 per cent of a her pre-tax income, while average Calgarians spend only about 37 per cent of their income.

?Conditions in the Toronto-area market are slightly more favourable to sellers presently. This will make further affordability improvement difficult in the near term,? says the report. It is more optimistic about Calgary?s market, claiming that strong market fundamentals will help the city?s housing market turn a corner over the next periods. ?With home affordability at the best levels Calgary has seen in the last six years and a significant increase in net new jobs at the end of 2011, we expect these strong fundamentals will help spur the Calgary housing market in the year ahead,? adds Robert Hogue, senior economist with RBC.

Result: Point for Calgary

Housing Market Tomorrow

According to Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB)?s forecast, demand for new homes in Calgary will rise: housing starts are expected to rise by 11 per cent. Total sales should grow by 12 per cent.

CREB President Bob Jablonski concluded: ?2012 will provide consumers with stable price growth in a low interest rate environment, encouraging both the first-time buyers and the move-up buyers to be more active in the marketplace.?

Housing Market Outlook 2012 by Remax wrote about positive prospects for Toronto as well. Tight inventory levels and unrelenting demand will probably continue to buoy housing values. Both home sales and house prices are expected to rise to 93,000 units and $488,000, respectively. Low interest rates, a tight rental market, and declining vacancy rates will stimulate homebuying. However, Jason Mercer, TREB?s Senior Manager of Market Analysis, noted: ?If tight market conditions continue to result in higher than expected price growth as we move into the spring, expectations for 2012 as a whole will have to be revised upwards.?

Result: Point for both cities

The Consumer Direct Marketing business model : Home Business ...

Well, this is my first blog. I started reading some other blogs to get an idea how to do it but then decide maybe I shouldn?t just in case something inadvertently sticks in my head & winds up in my blog. So, this is all me, just winging it!

I wanted to share with you about the Consumer Direct Marketing company that I?m partnered with. You see, I?ve been looking for years for a source of significant income that I could earn from home. Tried the others, lost some money, same story here. I found a different type of business model here that I would like to share with you. The benefits here are both an income and a different store.

In a traditional business model, the consumer is not part of the partnership, so to speak. The manufacturer, the retailer, and the advertiser are the only ones that make money. The consumer pays them all but does not get paid, although their end result is whatever product they purchased.

In a Consumer Direct Marketing relationship, the consumer also benefits in the relationship because they deal directly with the manufacturer/distributor, there is no advertiser and no retail piece to the puzzle. So every time the consumer buys in this model, the products are shipped directly to them from the manufacture at a better value because there are no advertising and retail middlemen to pay, so they save money.

Plus, in the case of this business model, the consumers are actually the ?advertisers? because they share the company with other consumers and in turn are given a ?thank you? from the company in the form of a check every month!

I think this is pretty cool because, let?s face it, the big box stores or chains or even your local mom & pop aren?t going to give you a check every time you tell a friend how great their products are and your friend starts shopping there, you know?

Well, I?m telling you how great this store is!!
This could be the end, but it?s just the beginning. ?
