A detainee (in this case a man held following a traffic stop due to an outstanding warrant) may be strip-searched upon entry into a jail?s general population, regardless of the seriousness of the offense resulting in that incarceration.? Arguments regarding the invasiveness or potential abuse of these searches were rejected by the Supreme Court of the US as ?not implicated on the facts of this case? and therefore ?unnecessary? to the Court?s consideration.?
